Apologies To My Compatriots

I do not know what is wrong with me I had a golden opportunity to

Reunite with my comrades

Only to stand them up in the end.

All of the stars had aligned For me to join up with them

I had gotten out of work early With no long-distance runs logged.

I was set to change out of my work clothes Grab my notepad and pens

And, boot it to the coffee shop

However, something made me change my mind.

Was it the fact I was too tired from work?

Am I scared to tell them I’ll be unemployed soon? Yes, it is probably the latter

I was always one who is concerned with my image.
